While we never suggest redeeming your loyalty rewards points at Amazon, there are many times throughout the year where if you redeem just a single point, you’ll receive a huge discount on your purchase.
These targeted offers can be found when members have a credit card within the following programs: American Express Membership Rewards®, Chase Ultimate Rewards®, Citi ThankYou® Rewards, Capital One, U.S. Bank, and Discover. So if you have a card in one of these programs, you’ll want to pay attention.
The savings vary, where in addition to being targeted, you still might receive a different offer than another Amazon member. Offers typically range between 10% to 50% off your purchase with a maximum threshold. The only caveat is that the discount will only work on Amazon purchases sold and shipped by Amazon. If the item is sold by a third party, the offer won’t work. Fortunately though, third-party merchant gift cards work, so if you don’t have a purchase to make at Amazon at the moment, you can always purchase a gift card to your favorite store, such as Whole Foods, Starbucks, Home Depot, etc.
But before you start, you’ll need to sync your credit card to your Amazon account through their Shop with Points program. Ultimately, this only takes a few minutes to set up. Just make sure you do not enable your points to be automatically applied when making Amazon purchases, as again, this is typically not a great use of your points except for these 1 point deals.
And remember, if you’re eligible, you’ll want to ensure to just use a single point to pay for your purchase. However, there are a few promotions that require a different number of points to be used (such as 100 or 714 points), so just pay attention to the terms of the offer.

In Summary
The reason most of these offers are so good is because you literally only have to use a single point to get the deal — and if the terms require more than a point, then it’s still a very minimal amount required. So see if you’re eligible, and enjoy your discount simply by using a few rewards points. Just remember to save the rest for travel where you’ll be able to redeem them for better value. =)
