We have a newly crowned top business credit card. Here’s the great news about the Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card. It now has more manageable spending requirements and a 10% earning on your first year (if you have an eligible Chase business checking account). This offer is awesome for those who could previously not hit the spending threshold. The monthly spending required is now cut in half! Read on to discover all the details. For many of you, this might be your first chance to get one of our top 3 favorite business cards.

🔥 “New” Offer Details:

Up to 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points: 35,000 points after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months + an additional 40,000 points after you spend $6,000 in 6 months

Great signup bonus for a business card with no annual fee, now with an extended timeline for hitting the spend requirement. Great for carrying a balance. 5x earning categories, and if paired with a premier Chase credit card (one that carries an annual fee), your points are worth even more.

The offer is “up to” 75,000 points (marketed as $750 cash back) for 2 spending thresholds.

Here’s how it works:

  • First, earn 35,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for spending $3,000 in the first 3 months.
  • Then, earn an additional 40,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for spending $6,000 total in the first 6 months.

Important note: This card is marketed as a cash back card, but you earn points – the same type of points that our other favorite cards earn!

🏅 Here’s why this offer is a big deal:

Some of you already have this card on your radar because you can easily hit the bonus spending required. But to others, this is a big open door to getting your first big bonus on one of our 3 favorite business cards.

⏳ The points amount on the offer has not changed, but the spending required to hit the bonus has become significantly more achievable for many people.

This new offer cuts the monthly spending required in half. This means your required monthly spending changes to an average of $1,000 monthly over 6 months. Previously, and still for its cousin, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card, the requirement was $6,000 in 3 months, or $2,000 monthly.

Most people can comfortably spend $1,000 per month on credit card expenses. So, in the spirit of the Price is Right, if you’re ready for a card and have a business that does not have this card, then “Come on down!”

It’s important to do the math to ensure you can hit the spending. And make sure you understand how a multi-tier bonus works. Explanation below.

💸 How a multi-tier bonus works:

In the travel credit card biz, the above offer would be called a multi-tier offer. We have a way for you to track multi-tier offers in the Travel Freely app! #shamelessplug

A multi-tier offer means that you can earn a partial bonus or a whole bonus based on your spending. It’s a way for banks to capture small and big spenders with the same offer. As much as we can, we want to be big spenders to hit the full bonuses (but only if it works for your financial situation – don’t spend beyond your means just to hit higher signup bonuses!).

With a multi-tier bonus, you don’t have to opt into one or the other. You are eligible for the whole offer if you get the card using a link with the multi-tier offer. The key is knowing that there are 2 deadlines with 2 spending requirements.

  • For the Ink Cash offer, the first bonus “tier” is spending $3,000 in the first 3 months to earn $350 (or 35,000 points).
  • The second bonus “tier” is spending a total of $6,000 in the first 6 months to earn an extra $400 (or 40,000 points).

❓ The question many people will be asking…

“Do I have to spend $6,000 or $9,000 to get the complete multi-tier bonus offer?”

The answer is $6,000. The second-tier spending requirement includes the previous $3,000 you spent towards the 35,000 points bonus. So, you need to spend an additional $3,000 in the first 6 months for a total of $6,000. Then you will have earned a total of 75,000 points.

📣 The Bottom Line:

I’m excited to see this offer because it’s been a long time since a lower monthly spending amount could hit a bonus for one of our favorite business cards. This allows many more people who previously unable to consider the Ink Cash because of the high spending required. At a minimum, some people may be interested in the first tier of 35,000 points with no annual fee (and no impact to 5/24). This is definitely a unique offer for a business card for this rewards program.

Relative to other business card options, this card is BY FAR the best business card offer relative to the required spending. When you consider Amex cards that require $10,000 to $15,000 spending in 3 months and up to a $695 annual fee, this is a no-brainer.

🏝️ To Summarize:

Everyone knows the feeling of being left out, not getting picked at recess, seeing others invited to the party, etc. This is an “everyone’s welcome” kind of offer because of its unique tiers and longer time period to hit the minimum required spending. While the bonus amount hasn’t changed, many of you will feel it’s finally attainable. That means even more people are getting a great bonus!

Do not let the word “business” scare you away. Most people can get business credit cards for any size business. It’s just a matter of following a few steps.

Extra Resources:

Extra help for beginners who are new to business cards:

What you need to know about the Chase Ink Cash:

  • Excellent signup bonus offer AND has NO annual fee.
  • Easy to get approved for most any size business.
  • If you are just starting a business, when you apply do not put $0 as your income. Project your next 12 months of income.
  • If you already have our #1 recommended personal card, you can combine those points. Then use those points in the travel portal or transfer them to partners (i.e. 75,000 points can become 75,000 Southwest miles, 75,000 Hyatt points, etc.).
  • It has a 3% foreign transaction fee, so you’ll want to use this card for domestic purchases only.

Extra tips:

  • Application rules reminder on 5/24. These business cards do NOT count towards your 5/24 total, but you must be UNDER 5/24 to be approved for these business cards. Check your CardGenie to see if these cards are showing in your recommendations.
  • If you have a partner and you both have a business, you can both get this card.
  • Unlike other business cards from this bank, these particular cards are not considered a “family.” This means you are eligible to get the signup bonus and hold all 3 of these cards over time. This is huge. Note: You don’t want to apply for 2 cards all at once unless you and your partner have separate businesses. You’ll want to space out these applications over time.
